What are you doing New Year’s Eve?

Happy New Year from Times Square NYC!

There’s no better way than kicking off my new year by checking something huge off my bucket list. As they say “the best things in life are free”. I purposely booked my ticket back to NYC from CA to catch this special event live. I was supposed to head out to Times Square by 3pm..I didn’t end up leaving my apartment until 5pm. I had arrived back in NYC the 30th and was home sick and tired. Long story short, after hours of pacing down avenues and asking a number of police officers what street is open to watch the ball drop, I finally found my spot, 7th avenue and W 51st street. That location is where I stood for seven hours in 38 degree weather. It was a long and cold wait but thanks to this Russian couple that I met, the time flew by rather quickly.

I’m proud of myself for sucking it up and making it down to Times Square to experience the NYE experience. I have been watching the Dick Clark show and Univision’s broadcast from Times Square for as long as I could remember and being able to watch the ball drop live as a young lady was the perfect start to 2013.
