One of my dear friends, Le, and I had been trying to coordinate a ladies afternoon for a couple of months now. As we were deciding where we should meet, she suggested we spend the early afternoon at a quaint tearoom in Davis, CA, called the Tea List.

As I’m on this mission to reacquaint myself with cities across California, I jumped at the suggestion. I tend to stay in the Bay Area on the weekends but wanted to take a trip northeast of San Francisco for once.

It was a hot summer afternoon and thanks to Le for making reservations at 11 am, we enjoyed the cool air and ambiance inside of the tearoom for a good 45 minutes before it started filling up with people.

We ordered the Afternoon Tea Service and chatted our way through buttery scones, refreshing fruit, crustless sandwiches, and rich chocolate cupcakes.

Oh yes! And I can’t forget to mention the tea, the reviving tea. Le opted for the Long Island Strawberry tea and I ordered the Peach Apricot tea. Perfect for a hot summer’s day.

For a tearoom that’s been around since 2009, anyone can bee fooled to think that it’s been around since Davis’s establishment.

Set in the heart of downtown, you can walk off your meal by visiting the local shops and museums next door.

If you’re ever in Davis, go give the Tea List a whirl. I guarantee it will take your mind off the heat and make your wheels turn about booking a trip to the English countryside.
