Day of the Sunflowers

This summer I wanted to run through a field of sunflowers in the middle of “nowhere” California.

I wasn’t quite sure where that “nowhere” was until I began researching fields online. To my surprise, I didn’t have to travel to far in order to find them.
Yolo County, located in the northern part of California, has an abundance of fields. I decided to explore the fields in the city of Woodland, a city 15 miles north of Sacramento.
Mindful of not trespassing anyone’s property, we came across a farmer who gave us the exact coordinates to one of his fields that he allows people to roam through. When we arrived we parked our car on the side of the road and went for it.
It was a hot summer’s day but that didn’t stop us from wandering into the fields filled of bright yellow sunflowers.
